Announces Price Increase for latex sold into the Carpet Industry

Midland, MI - 08/15/2002 - Effective September 15, 2002, the Dow Emulsion Polymers business is increasing the prices of all their latexes sold into the carpet industry by US$0.04/lb (dry) in the United States and Canada.

These price increases are being driven by increased costs for styrene and butadiene monomers, which are major raw materials used in the production of S/B Latex and VSB latexes.
