Analytik Jena subsidiary receives 12-million-euro follow-up order from Brazil

06-Dec-2002

The Project Solutions business area of Analytik Jena AG has received an order to modernize and provide equipment for over 50 Brazilian universities. The Analytik Jena subsidiary, AJZ Engineering GmbH, was presented with the 12.4-million-euro order, which is to be completed within 18 months, by the Brazilian Ministry of education.

AJZ Engineering will both modernize wide areas of the universities' civil engineering departments and deliver medical equipment systems and other equipment to Brazil's university hospitals. The Brazilian Education Ministry contract follows last year's order for equipment and services as part of the infrastructure modernization program at Brazilian universities and institutions of higher education. The previous order totaled over 19.2 million euros for AJZ Engineering.

AJZ Engineering has delivered scientific and medical equipment to more than 80 Brazilian universities over the past two years, rendering these systems fully operable at the various sites. Last week, Germany's KfW Bank and the Brazilian treasury have agreed on the financing for the project. The completion of the project has also been guaranteed by the German credit insurer, Hermes Kreditversicherung.
