Bayer increases prices worldwide for nitrotoluenes and toluidines

Leverkusen - Effective April 1, 2003 Bayer Chemicals, a division of Bayer AG, will increase its prices worldwide for nitrotoluenes and toluidines by EUR 150 and 200 per metric ton respectively. According to Wolfgang Hirte, marketing manager for nitrotoluenes at Bayer Chemicals, the reason for the increase is the considerable rise in manufacturing costs - primarily due to the significant increase in raw material and energy costs.
