Dow Corning expands operations in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States
The office in Moscow will serve as a platform for growth by providing customers and manufacturers with a choice of innovative silicon-based technologies and solutions to compete in the global marketplace.
Dow Corning's commitment to serving Russian customers goes back to the 1970s. "The opening of a representation office in Moscow demonstrates our long-term commitment to the market and our goal to strengthen our relationships with Russian customers," explained Bob Hansen, President of Dow Corning Europe.
"It's clear that there are significant business opportunities for silicon- based materials, technologies and services in this dynamic, fast-expanding market. We also are looking forward to expanding our customer base in this region, working closely with customers to understand the needs of local companies and tailor solutions to give them exactly what they need to solve their problems and seize their biggest opportunities."
The opening of the Moscow office will enable Dow Corning to partner more closely with local customers and to address their diverse needs for innovation, expertise in silicon science and technology, as well as solutions to achieve their business goals, whether they are looking to innovate, to grow reliably or to drive down costs.
Dow Corning's products and solutions will serve to spur the growth of many of Russia's leading domestic industries -- including construction, beauty and personal care, household cleaning products, rubber fabrication, electronics, and textiles as well as many other industries where silicon-based products, technology and solutions can support the growth and profitability of customers' businesses.
"Companies throughout Russia and the CIS are taking steps to increase the competitiveness of their products in the global marketplace as well as domestically. By opening an office in Moscow, we can provide manufacturers across many industries with locally-based expertise and technologies to help them take advantage of the emerging business opportunities," indicated Markus Ponleitner, Country Development Manager of Russia and the CIS and head of Dow Corning's representation office in Moscow.
"Longer term our intention is to build good relationships with local academic institutions, taking advantage of their expertise to explore opportunities for our mutual benefit." Mr. Ponleitner has more than a decade of experience developing sales channels in Russia and Eastern Europe.
