Ashland's Electronic Chemicals Division Introduces New Ergonomic Packaging

19-Apr-2001

A new ergonomically-enhanced high density polyethylene (HDPE) 5-litre bottle for packaging all grades of microelectronic chemical products has been developed and introduced for European customers by the Electronic chemicals Division of Ashland Specialty Chemical Company, a wholly owned division of Ashland Inc. (NYSE:ASH). Ashland's new 5-litre bottle achieves superior quality parameters for trace metal and particle concentrations.

"This new packaging maintains Ashland's critical standards for quality and reflects our pursuit of technology leadership in service to our customers," said Geoffrey Hitchmough, Electronic Chemicals Division business director for Europe. "It follows our earlier introduction of a 200-litre/55-gallon HDPE drum, and will be joined by a similar 2.5-litre HDPE bottle we plan to introduce later this year."

Hitchmough said the improved packaging will complement Ashland's increased European-based production, which now includes ACT photoresist stripper and etch residue remover products, at its Ashland Italia Ltd. facility in Milan, Italy. New installations in the Milan facility, supported by new analytical capabilities, recently enabled the company to add the ACT product line to join its wet process chemicals production there.
