New Dow Epoxy Web site Makes Product Selection Simpler

The Epoxy Products and intermediates (EP&I) business of The Dow Chemical Company today announced the launch of its new global Web site - www.dowepoxy.com - which employs unique web-based software to help customers locate and select the right epoxy product for their specific applications.

The interactive Shockwave-based "Product Finder" software allows users to click on one or more categories - product type, application, or geographic availability - to quickly receive a list of Dow epoxy products best suited to their requirements. A second click on a specific Dow epoxy brings up a wealth of information including product brochures, technical data sheets, product stewardship manuals, and material safety data sheets. The Product Finder tool also helps customers find approved Dow epoxy distributors in their geography.

"Dow makes hundreds of epoxy products that are used all over the world for challenging and innovative applications," said Phil Cook, EP&I business vice president. "By giving customers and prospects a quick and easy way to navigate our comprehensive portfolio on their own, we can help streamline their product development efforts and strengthen our position as a low-cost producer. The launch of the new www.dowepoxy.com with the leading edge Product Finder technology is simply the latest step in making it as easy as possible for customers to do business with Dow. The new site with its enhanced features blazes in the trail of other key Dow e-business offerings. These include MyAccount@Dow - which provides customers with order entry, order status reporting, payment tracking, technical information, web meeting, and Drop Box capabilities for document sharing.

Dow is also making it easier and more efficient for customers to meet their needs through Elemica and e-epoxy.com. Through the independent, global network hub of Elemica, Dow has built "system to system" capabilities to receive orders, send order and shipment confirmations, and process order changes. Through e-epoxy.com - the only e-commerce site dedicated exclusively to the epoxy industry, Dow offers attractive, no-frills pricing/order capability to customers who only require product, but do not want or need to pay for extra services. e-epoxy.com recently expanded its geographic reach to The People's Republic of China, thereby opening up an alternative supply channel to Chinese epoxy buyers.
