Borealis increases European polyolefins prices by EUR 150 per tonne

21-Aug-2003
Borealis announced that it will increase the price of its polyethylene and polypropylene plastics in Europe by EUR 150 per tonne as of September 1, 2003. "In the second quarter polyolefin prices collapsed at an unprecedented rate while crude oil and naphtha prices remain at high levels", says David Rolph, Executive Vice President, polyolefins Business Group. "This price increase is required to restore profitability to our European business in order to sustain investments, including in innovation and technology. Ongoing investment is necessary to continue the growth of polyolefins as a material of choice in our daily lives."
