Aventis CropScience Continues to Streamline Its Portfolio
This divestment is a key step in Aventis Environmental Science' s strategic process to develop and focus on its branded product lines aimed at professional markets such as the Green Industry (e.g. turf and amenity care, vegetation management), professional pest control including termite, locust and vector control, wood preservation and stored products.
The business to be acquired by Sumitomo includes Aventis Environmental Science pyrethroid insecticides used as household insecticides. The transfer includes, where appropriate, trademarks, registrations and labels.
Aventis Environmental Science offers a broad portfolio for public health and hygiene, materials preservation, turf and amenity care, and vegetation management, thus covering non-agricultural applications of Aventis CropScience core crop protection active ingredients. Aventis Environmental Science is part of Aventis CropScience, Lyon, France, which reported sales of € 4,034 billion for 2000 and employs about 14,400 people in more than 120 countries worldwide.
