Sika to sell shoe adhesive activities to Forbo

Within the framework of its portfolio restructuring programme following the acquisition of the company Tivoli Klebstoffe GmbH, Germany, Sika is selling its shoe adhesive business to Forbo-Helmitin, Germany with effect from 1 July 2001. Subject to the approval of the antitrust authorities, Forbo-Helmitin, Pirmasens (Germany) is to acquire the Shoe Adhesive Division of Sika Tivoli, Hamburg (Germany) with effect from 1 July 2001. This Division generated sales of about DM 2 million in fiscal 2000. It is part of Sika Tivoli, in which Sika acquired a majority stake in mid 2000. Sika Tivoli is now focusing on its core business structural bonding and lamination technology.
