PPG Total Service Solutions Wins Its First Chemical and Process Management Contract in China

PPG Total Service Solutions recently signed a contract with Wuxi Vehicle Body Co. to provide the vehicle manufacturer with a chemical and process management program at its facility in Wuxi, China. Initial implementation of the program -- the supplier's first comprehensive product and service program in China -- began in March.

PPG Total Service Solutions is providing the facility -- which produces the Soya and Unique -- all indirect materials and chemicals associated with the coatings application process, including detackification and paint line cleaning solvents, consumables and lab equipment. In addition to the program, PPG is also supplying all the materials required for the coatings application process.

"This program enables PPG to demonstrate its broad product portfolio and expertise in processing and coating vehicles by implementing a service program and providing coatings materials," said Vincent Robin, managing director of PPG automotive, Asia Pacific.

"The extensive chemical and process management experience of our PPG Total Service Solutions team is a perfect match for the needs of this start-up company," said Scott A. Follett, global director, PPG Total Service Solutions.
