Bayer Faser GmbH to be renamed Dorlastan Fibers & Monofil GmbH

05-Jul-2004 - Germany

Bayer Faser GmbH, Dormagen, Germany, a business unit of Lanxess, is changing its name to Dorlastan Fibers & Monofil GmbH effective July 1, 2004 to highlight its focus on its future core business. This year the company has two reasons to celebrate: 40 years of Dorlastan® and the successful launch of a completely new corporate structure.

The U.S. site in Bushy Park, SC, was renamed Dorlastan Fibers LLC at the start of this year. Managing Director Jörg Hellwig expects the new structure to make the company more agile and speed up its market operations: "We now have an extremely flexible company that operates worldwide. Our aim is to provide products and services of consistent quality for our international customers at all times. The consolidation of operations at our sites, including the integration of warping and winding machinery in Dormagen, Germany, backed up by the support of DHL Worldwide Logistics, makes us the partner for our market segment. At the same time, our spandex operations (Dorlastan) and our monofils business (Perlon, Atlas, Bayco) now have their own structures, enabling us to make systematic use of product strategies within the framework of Dorlastan Fibers & Monofil GmbH."
