Acordis sells Industriepark Oberbruch to Nuon

rnhem, the Netherlands - Acordis has sold its site services unit Industriepark Oberbruch (IPO) in Heinsberg (Germany) to Nuon Energie & Service GmbH of Odernheim (Germany). Financial details were not disclosed. With a staff of approximately 180 people IPO provides energy and waste water treatment and supplies services like warehousing, security, and personnel administration to the companies located on the site. Nuon Energie & Service belongs to the Dutch based Nuon group. With 7,500 employees Nuon plays a prominent role as an energy and water utility supplier in the Netherlands. Core tasks include the production and marketing of electricity, gas, heat and water. In addition, Nuon develops and sells products and services related to energy and water. Through the acquisition of IPO Nuon will obtain a strategic foothold in Germany. Acordis is a multinational group of businesses, supplying customers throughout the world with man-made fibres and speciality materials for industrial, textile, medical, and hygiene applications. The Acordis group has sales of some EUR 2.2 billion (USD 1.9 billion, GBP 1.4 billion), employs 15,000 people, and has production facilities in Germany, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Brazil, Italy, Spain, and Poland.
