Univar appoints Patrick Lammers Managing Director of its Dureal business
Patrick Lammers appointment gives a solid, independent form to Dureal, which had previously been an internally managed project. Importantly it confirms Univar's long-term commitment to deliver on the Dureal concept to the automotive and transport industries throughout Europe and globally.
Prior to taking up leadership of the new company on April 1, Lammers had spent 14 years with Royal Dutch/Shell Group in a range of engineering and commercial management roles. Latterly, with Shell International Oil Products, he was Regional Commercial Manager, Europe, Middle East and Africa for Shell Car Care International, a business with similar challenges to those facing Dureal in the short and medium term, and interfacing with the same prospective audiences.
From idea to start-up phase and now into the professional implementation stage, the Dureal programme is moving up to the next level. Lammers is currently working with the Dureal team to fine-tune the business plan in order to speed up its implementation and strengthen the company's market penetration in the near-term. "This includes building an organisation that is adequate to capitalise on the current market situation," he explains. "Also determining how we can best use the Univar network, as this gives Dureal the potential for immediate reach into every market that it targets."
Lammers, a Dutch national, has a degree in industrial engineering and post-graduate qualifications in sales and marketing.
