Keith Smith Picked to Head DuPont Engineering Polymers

DuPont has appointed Keith J. Smith as vice president and general manager of its DuPont Engineering polymers business unit. He succeeds Terry Caloghiris, who has been named vice president and general manager - DuPont Performance Coatings Transformation.

As head of DuPont Engineering Polymers, Smith leads a global enterprise that provides customers with high performance polymer materials, systems, and solutions to improve uniqueness, functionality, and profitability in a wide variety of industrial and consumer products. Key end-use markets include aerospace, appliance, automotive, consumer goods, electrical, electronics, industrial products and sporting goods. In a 25-year career at DuPont, Keith Smith, 47, has held a series of increasingly responsible positions in the United States and Europe. In his latest prior position, he was global director of marketing, sales and development for DuPont Engineering Polymers. Earlier he held management and technical posts in corporate planning and in DuPont businesses engaged in the production and sale of polymers, speciality and basic chemicals and intermediates. Smith holds bachelors and masters degrees in chemical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He lives in Pennsylvania with his wife Joanne and their two children.
