Dow's Global Presence Redefined Around Five Major Regions
Effective immediately, the Company's activities outside North America will be aligned to four major regions - Europe, Asia Pacific, Latin America and India/Middle East/Africa - each led by a newly appointed regional president. All of Dow's businesses and functions will adopt the new regional framework.
The four newly appointed regional presidents are:
Jim McIlvenny, Asia Pacific region. McIlvenny will also continue in his present role as president of Dow Greater China. He will remain in Shanghai, broadening his current responsibilities to embrace Dow's presence across the whole region, capitalizing on the many synergies that exist across the Asia Pacific while ensuring that the Company's focus on Greater China remains just as sharp as it has been these past few years.
Earl Shipp, India, Middle East and Africa region. Shipp is currently business vice president for Dow Oxides and Glycols. He will relocate to Dubai and will be responsible for increasing Dow's presence and strengthening key relationships in this critical advantaged feedstock geography. Shipp retains his existing business responsibilities.
Pedro E. Suarez, Latin America region. Suarez was previously commercial vice president for Plastics North America. He will relocate to Sao Paolo, Brazil, and will lead the geographic organization in creating the foundations that will enable Dow's businesses to expand their activities in this important growth region.
Markus Wildi, Europe region. Wildi, who was previously commercial vice president, Plastics Europe, will take a dual role as president of Dow Europe and general manager for Dow in Germany, the Company's second largest market worldwide. In addition to overseeing activities in Germany, Wildi will be responsible for bolstering Dow's presence and influence across the region, with a particular focus on supporting Dow's growth strategy for the emerging geographies in Eastern Europe. He will remain based in Horgen.
