Degussa to Increase Prices of DYNAPOL LH and VESTICOAT UB Brands of Liquid Coating Polyesters
Effective May 1, 2006, Degussa will be increasing the prices of its DYNAPOL LH and VESTICOAT UB brands of liquid coating polyesters by 3 percent in Europe. This adjustment is necessitated by the raw materials situation, which continues to remain extremely tense. The significant relaxation expected in the area of petrochemical raw materials, and of solvents in particular, did not occur in the first quarter of 2006. In addition, raw materials prices will again rise significantly in the second quarter. Specific increases due to greatly reduced availability of monomers such as isophthalic acid are not being taken into consideration here, because these are currently assumed to be no more than short-term shortages.
