Chemtura increses price in brominated flame retardants
· $0.30/kg on Tetrabromobisphenol A (BA-59PTM)
· $0.20/kg on all grades of Hexabromocyclododecane (CD-75PTM; CD-75PCTM; CD-75PMTM; SP-75TM; SP-75CTM)
· $0.30/kg on Decabromodiphenylethane (FiremasterTM 2100)
· $0.30/kg on Tribromophenol (PH-73FFTM)
According to Chemtura, these increases are necessary to cover increased energy and feedstock costs. They also cover advocacy costs that ensure sustainable flame-retardant choices for customers and end users. Recovery of bromine value is essential to ensure a reliable supply chain and to fund research into future technology.
