Chemtura's BA-59P Flame Retardant Off-List Price Increase
Chemtura Corporation announced an off-list price increase of $0.25/kg for its BA-59P flame retardant (tetrabrominobisphenol A), effective Sept. 1 or where contracts allow.
According to the company, these increases are necessary to cover increased energy and feedstock costs, including bisphenol A. They also cover advocacy costs that ensure sustainable flame-retardant choices for customers and end-users. Recovery of bromine value is essential to ensure a reliable supply chain and to fund research into future technology.
