LyondellBasell Aromatics Extraction License Granted to Linhuan Coking Company

Linhuan Coking Company has selected LyondellBasell's Aromatics Extraction process for a new 80 KT per year plant to be built at Huaibei, Anhui Province, China. Start up is scheduled for 2009.

LyondellBasell's Aromatics Extraction technology is used to produce high purity aromatics and is characterized by a high degree of versatility and good scale-up capability. Six Aromatics Extraction processes have been licensed by the company in the last 12 months.

"This success is part of a series of Aromatics Extraction licenses which we have recently secured in relation to coke oven light oil (COLO) recovery projects," said Kaspar Evertz, LyondellBasell's Senior Vice President of Licensing. "In addition to our polyolefins licensing business, this technology is an important part of our chemical manufacturing processes portfolio."
