RCT Reichelt Chemietechnik
PVC-U Pipes for Chemical Applications - Pressure Resistant up to 16 bar with Optimal Media Conveyance
RCT Reichelt Chemietechnik GmbH + Co.
Polyvinyl chloride-U (PVC-U) pipes offer a reliable solution for demanding industrial applications as plasticizer-free chemical pipes. The smooth inner surfaces ensure linear flow of various media at operating temperatures from -15 °C to +60 °C.
Technical Properties and Pressure Resistance
THOMAVINYL pipes achieve maximum pressure loads between 10 and 16 bar, depending on the respective pipe dimension. Smaller cross-sections enable higher pressure values. Against water, PVC-U pipes with 50 mm diameter show complete resistance up to 60 °C, while at temperatures up to 100 °C only limited resistance exists.
Versatile Application Areas
In chemical process technology, electrical engineering and mechanical engineering, PVC-U pipes find wide application as insulating and cable protection pipes. Corrugated pipe variants are particularly suitable for vibrating connection systems in apparatus construction. The plasticizer-free composition enables the conveyance of alkalis, acids, oxidizing agents, mineral oils and fats.
Chemical Resistance and Limitations
PVC-U shows excellent resistance against many aggressive media, but is not resistant to aromatic and halogenated solvents. This property must be considered when selecting media.
