Secure adhesive bonds in chemical technology require professional surface preparation. Specialty cleaners and etching agents ensure optimal adhesion of various adhesives on difficult-to-bond materials such as polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) and other plastics.

PTFE etching agents specifically remove fluorine atoms and fluorocarbons from PTFE surfaces. The etching process leaves behind a carbon-containing film that enables reliable adhesive bonding. Treatment is performed at room temperature within 30 to 60 seconds or accelerated at 60°C.

Tangit cleaners based on acetone and methyl ethyl ketone (MEK) optimally prepare surfaces of unplasticized polyvinyl chloride (PVC-U), chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (PVC-C), and acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) for bonding. These cleaners remove contaminants and create ideal conditions for permanent pipe connections.
