12-12-2006: The pharmaceutical company Janssen Pharmaceutical has honored Düsseldorf-based Degussa AG with its "Partnership Award 2006" for outstanding services as a supplier. A team of representatives from the Catalysts Business Line and the Building Blocks Business Unit recently accepted the award in Geel.
Janssen Pharmaceutica, a company of the Johnson & Johnson Group, uses customized precious metal catalysts and intermediates from Degussa to produce pharmaceutical active principles. Johnson & Johnson Worldwide Chemical Production annually purchases products worth more than EUR157 million from hundreds of suppliers. The company performs a critical evaluation of the quality, supplier services, and cost of its suppliers and evaluates the resulting market benefit. Suppliers who have fully met the expectations in all four categories over a period of at least one year are honored with the Partnership Award.
"The Partnership Award of Janssen Pharmaceutica reaffirms our commitment to quality and service", said Dr. Hans-Josef Ritzert, head of the Catalysts Business Line. He attributes the success to the cooperation of his entire team, ranging from research and development to production, customer service, sales, and marketing. Degussa has won the award for the second time. Only seven other companies received a Partnership Award this year.
