We employ a product design philosophy where our customer’s data integrity, safety, and protection of investment are paramount. Why does such a commitment to quality matter so much? Because the accuracy, reproducibility and reliability of test results produced by Instron equipment is critical to the success of our customers’ businesses and to the quality of their products. How confident do you need to be in your test results?

Research and Development A combination of internal and project funding enables us to invest approximately 6% of our revenue back into our product development programs. Our goal is to continually advance the application of existing technologies and to develop new and innovative technologies for the benefits of our customers.

Our R&D process looks at real working habits and our customers’ environment to bring improvements to the testing industry that go beyond improved specifications.

For example, our new ElectroPuls™ line incorporates hundreds of little details that are designed to enhance usability and improve productivity. The test space can be adjusted by simply twisting a lever and pushing a button – no extra tools required. Our engineers also discovered that machine noise is disruptive and creates an uncomfortable environment for operators. In response, we designed a patented, oil-free linear motor technology and a cooling system that is both quiet and only turns on when necessary – a revolutionary change for the fatigue testing industry.
