LyondellBasell Names Kent Potter as CFO

LyondellBasell Industries announced that its Supervisory Board has named Kent Potter as Chief Financial Officer, effective August 1. Potter will succeed Alan Bigman who will be offered an opportunity to continue assisting in the company's Chapter 11 restructuring activities.
Potter most recently was a consultant in the petrochemicals sector and formerly was the Chief Financial Officer of TNK-BP, Russia's second largest oil company. He was previously Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Chevron Phillips Chemical Company from 2000 to July 2003 and served as a member of Chevron Phillips Chemical Company's Board of Directors.
Prior to his time with Chevron Phillips, Potter had spent 27 years with Chevron. During this time, he held financial management positions in all areas of Chevron's operations. These included Finance Director for Chevron's North Sea operations, CFO of Chevron's mining company, CFO of Tengizchevroil in Kazakhstan and CFO of Chevron Overseas Petroleum (Chevron's international E&P operations).
Potter served on the Advisory Board of the Haas Graduate School of Business (UC, Berkeley) and formerly was a member of the Supervisory Board of LyondellBasell Industries.
