“I would like to thank Thomas on behalf of the entire advisory board. He has shown great commitment in successfully moving the CABB Group forward over the past two years and navigating it safely through economically challenging times”, said Roberto Gualdoni, chairman of the advisory board. “We are therefore all the more delighted that he will continue to contribute his valuable expertise as a member of the advisory board.”
Thomas H. Ahrens had recently been absent for an extended period due to illness. "I have now returned to health and am very glad to have completely overcome my illness. Nonetheless, after over 35 years in the chemical industry, it is now time for me to step down from the operational business”, said Ahrens. “I would like to thank all our employees, customers, partners and our owners for their wonderful collaboration and for the trust they have shown. I would also like to thank Tobias Schalow and Marcus Mayer (CFO) for how professionally they have handled things in my absence over the past few months. The company is in excellent hands with Tobias Schalow and I wish him every success and happiness in his new role.”
Tobias Schalow joined the CABB Group in 2018 and was appointed COO in 2020. Prior to this, he saw through strategic transformation programs in the chemical industry, at Linde and at Booz & Company. He has contributed significantly to the further development of the CABB Group over the past few years, both operationally and commercially. In his new management position, he will be supported as before by CFO Marcus Mayer (57). “We now look forward to continuing on our chosen path with Tobias Schalow as we develop our growth platforms in Crop Sciences, Life Sciences and Performance Materials and further strengthen the position of the CABB Group as one of the world’s leading specialized chemical companies”, Gualdoni emphasized.
