Luxembourg Post Office Using Envelopes Made of Tyvek®

17-May-2002

May 17, 2002 — Lightweight, extra strong and water- resistant envelopes made of DuPont™ Tyvek® brand protective material with a cushion pad insert are now being offered by the Luxembourg Post Office for sending heavy or sensitive mail. Both the Tyvek® and the cushion pad are made of recyclable polyethylene, making this is the first fully recyclable solution for cushion envelopes on the market.

"This important contract is the result of excellent cooperation between the DuPont Nonwovens business organization and the DuPont Luxembourg site country management, which initiated the Post Office's interest through the good contacts established with them," said Luxembourg Site Managing Director Bill Walker.

He added: "Furthermore, the Post Office was proud to advertise its new envelopes made of Tyvek® from DuPont. It shows just how synergies can be effectively used on the marketplace."

Applying science to fulfill human needs – such as the need for lightweight, durable envelopes – is part of the DuPont integrated science strategy for achieving sustainable growth.
