Fifty years strong – the Bodo Möller Chemie team celebrates half a century of success, innovation, and unity.

In 2025, the Bodo Möller Chemie Group is looking back over five decades of successful company history as a family-run solutions provider and partner to global chemical companies such as BASF, Dow, DuPont, Henkel, and Huntsman. Expansion, strong partnerships, and future-proof solutions will continue to be priorities for its corporate strategy in the future.

CEO Frank Haug and Managing Director Korinna Möller-Boxberger on the stage: With heartfelt words, they reflect on a successful past and a promising future on the occasion of Bodo Möller Chemie’s 50th anniversary.

What started off as a small family firm in the 1970s is still family-run but has grown significantly with some 400 employees, primarily chemists, technicians, and engineers, now catering to clients worldwide. To match this growth, the company has steadily expanded its customer service, logistics, and technical support infrastructure over the last 50 years. Beyond its headquarters in the German city of Offenbach, the specialty chemicals expert has also established a global network of more than 40 locations, from which it serves clients in more than 60 countries around the world. The goal is to assist users worldwide in sectors such as aviation, the automotive industry, battery manufacture, hydrogen usage, communications, or robotics with custom-fit solutions and leading manufacturers’ innovative products.

Core expertise adhesive technology – systematic solutions

“We are pioneers in adhesives. Our core expertise lies in transforming chemical products into mechanical design data or physical units to deliver highly effective, sustainable, innovative end products,” states Frank Haug, CEO of the Bodo Möller Chemie Group. “We offer this expertise to our clients worldwide, setting us apart from the competition,” adds Korinna Möller-Boxberger, Managing Director of the Bodo Möller Chemie Group. This is the approach the company takes to bringing the right chemicals to industry and converting chemical properties into functional values, such as components for smartphones, robots, aircraft, or vehicles. “Our mission remains converting molecules into functioning units – knowledge translates into value,” affirms Haug. More than 250 chemists and engineers deliver technical consultation, supported by the company’s dedicated global laboratory infrastructure. There are currently already five laboratories in operation in Europe, China, America, and the Middle East with more planned in India.

Strategic focus: Expansion, megatrends, and new business activities

Besides expanding its core technological expertise, the family enterprise is also continuing to advance cross-sector future areas of interest: With the Fit for the Future 2030 program, Bodo Möller Chemie is focusing on AI, sustainability, digitization, and global expansion, especially in Asia and America, with a revenue target between 600 and 700 million euros. In the fiscal year 2024, the company generated earnings of 233 million euros, placing it firmly on its path to meeting its target. When it comes to sustainability, the adhesive expert already offers bio-based epoxy resins for hydrogen pressure tanks and debonding-on-demand solutions for adhesive applications. Another priority is special solutions for robotics, autonomous driving, and communication technologies with applications such as conductive adhesives, optimized thermal management, and electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding. The company is expanding its market presence in the IMEA region with its newly established Life Sciences Division and a laboratory specifically set up for this new division. “Only those who detect such megatrends early on and offer an innovative, custom-fit product portfolio will be able to grow organically moving forward,” declares Haug regarding the company’s strategic orientation towards future markets.

The company celebrated its 50 years of existence with a large employee gathering at its headquarters in Offenbach, inspired by summer festivals, featuring a live band, DJ, and numerous opportunities to connect and show appreciation.
