03-Feb-2003

Since the beginning of this year, Dr. Frank Heinricht has been a new member of the Board of Management and Chief Operating Officer (COO)/Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of the globally active precious metals and technology group Heraeus Holding GmbH. Thereby he has become the successor of Dr. Klaus Goffloo. Goffloo has been a member of the Board of Management of Heraeus Holding since 1992 and has decided to resign from his office as of January 31, 2003.

"With the entry of Dr. Heinricht, the Board of Management of our Company is getting younger and our focus on high-technology, future-oriented products is intensified," said Dr. Jürgen Heraeus, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Heraeus Group. "Thereby we can proceed on our way of introducing a smooth change of generations." At the same time, he expressed his sincere thanks to the resigning board member Goffloo for his eleven-year-long successful commitment in the Heraeus Group.

Heinricht is 40 years old, is married and has three children. After the completion of his studies of physics and his subsequent doctorate as Dr. Ing. at the Technical University Berlin, he had been for many years a Managing Director of an internationally positioned division of a semiconductor company. For five years, he had managed this company as Chief Executive Officer. Heinricht is a member of the Advisory Board of the Würth Group and of the Technical Advisory Board of the Fraunhofer Society as well as the Caesar Foundation.

"I experience the Heraeus Group as a very renowned and at the same time as a modern company," Heinricht emphasized. "Especially the high technological expertise of the employees is very impressive. To further build this demonstrated innovative ability is one of our foremost goals."

The Group is managed by the Chief Financial Officer, Dr. Dieter Truxius, and Dr. Frank Heinricht as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Technology Officer. The Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Dr. Jürgen Heraeus, supports them more actively until a new Chief Executive Officer is appointed.
