DFF Appoints Schenk to Technologies Chair

The German Flat Panel Display Forum (DFF) has named Covion's Dr Hermann Schenk to the position of joint chairman - technologies.
The industry-driven association strives to closely integrate the interests of research, materials, equipment and production technologies. The corresponding role of joint chairman - applications is being taken by Wolfgang Mildner, of Siemens AG.
Dr Schenk is managing director of Covion Organic Semiconductors GmbH, the Frankfurt-based technology leader in OLED materials.
Founded in early 2000, DFF represents nearly 80 international companies, researchers and organisations active in electronic flat panel display R&D, materials, technologies, components and production, as well as display end users.
Dr Schenk has been associated with the development of OLEDs since the birth of the technology in the late 1980s. He headed Hoechst's light emitting organics project - which grew into Covion - from its inception in 1992. He was appointed managing director of Covion on the company's Formation, in early 1999.
