CheMatch.com and laycan ASA announced today that they
have formed a strategic alliance. The
services of CheMatch.com, a leading internet-based
marketplace and information resource for buying and selling bulk commodity chemicals,
plastics, feedstocks and fuel products will be supplemented with the
services of laycan
ASA, a pioneering online ship-brokering company, backed by in depth domain expertise in
the chemical,
gas and tanker markets.
laycan ASA will provide chartering and fixture information to the CheMatch site via a fully
integrated service branded “CheMatch Freight Matrik”, and offer CheMatch users instant
access to laycan’s online chartering application. These services will provide CheMatch
users with invaluable information, including rate estimates and speedy market access for
securing short and deep-sea
transportation of cargoes.
“With laycan’s information and chartering systems, CheMatch traders are offered instant,
secure and easy access to the chemical,
gas and tanker
shipping markets. We also believe
the tools and fixture information to be provided by laycan will be useful for traders on the
CheMatch site for determining cif and fob commodity prices” said Tor A. Svelland, CEO of
laycan ASA.
“Freight cost and availability can be the deciding factor in a transaction.” said
Carl
McCutcheon, CheMatch.com’s Chairman and CEO. “CheMatch Freight Matrik” allows
those involved in ship chartering to offer their services and expertise to the trading
participants on CheMatch. We are excited about our alliance with laycan and their
participation as the inaugural member of this service.”
