Marc Chollet, 39, has just been appointed European General Manager for the Rohm and Haas
plastics Additives business. His appointment follows the departure of Yves Hubert, who left Rohm and Haas after 26 years with the Company. The Plastics Additives business includes a central office in Paris, laboratory and technical
services site at Valbonne (in southern France), sales representation in most European countries and production plants in France and Scotland.
A graduate of the Institut National Agronomique Paris-Grignon, Marc Chollet began his
food industry career with the Beguin-Say group, where he occupied a number of international sales and marketing positions for the Carapelli, Ducros and Lesieur brands, becoming International Manager for the latter. He then extended that responsibility to include also the group's consumer activities, with particular responsibility for key strategy development.
After two successful years creating a number of property and
agriculture companies, Marc Chollet joined Rohm and Haas in January 2003 as AgroFresh Business Director for Europe and Asia-Pacific, with a mission to bring innovative fruit and vegetable conservation technologies quickly to market.
In assuming control of the European segment of the Plastics Additives business, Marc Chollet is now responsible for a business that is facing steep rises in raw material costs and financial results which are below group expectations. His immediate priority is to improve the business' profitability, whilst respecting Rohm and Haas' commitment to maintain its high levels of innovation and quality.
