ROHM AND HAAS POWDER COATINGS EXPANDS PARTNERSHIP WITH CHEMPOINT.COM

03-Aug-2004
In response to increasing market demands, Rohm and Haas powder coatings announced today that it has expanded its relationship with Chempoint.com. Through an extended partnership, ChemPoint.com, the leading online distributor of specialty and fine chemicals in North America, becomes the exclusive distributor for selected General Metal Finishing products sold to small and medium customers. Rohm and Haas believes it will be better positioned to service and support this valued customer base. The expanded partnership, which was effective August 1, 2004, broadens an alliance created between the two companies in April of this year. The ChemPoint partnership helps Rohm and Haas build a more cost effective delivery of marketing programs, technical service and personalized customer support. "Leveraging ChemPoint is about focusing and delivering specific values to a targeted customer segment," states Paul Bowers, Director of the General Metal Finishing segment. "Our success is predicated on how quickly and professionally we can deliver product and technical support to our customers. ChemPoint offers us broader technical strengths, and the ability to connect quickly with customers while expanding our capacity to proactively manage an extremely large, diverse customer base." "We see Rohm and Haas Powder Coatings' decision to significantly extend our relationship, just four months after our initial alliance, as a strong endorsement of the values our innovative business model delivers," notes Chad Steigers, ChemPoint's Managing Director. With this additional launch, Rohm and Haas has moved past several other leading chemical manufacturers to become ChemPoint's single largest supplier partner (based on revenue). "Our experience over the last few months has confirmed to us that Rohm and Haas Powder Coatings is a leader in this segment, with superior technical support and product performance, particularly with regards to coverage, high transfer efficiency and their diversity of colors, grades and textures."
