Air Liquide inaugurates a new air separation unit in Slovakia

23-Nov-2004

Air Liquide announces the inauguration of its new air separation plant in Trnava, about 50 kilometers from Slovakia's capital Bratislava. This new cryogenic unit was designed and installed by Air Liquide Slovakia, who will operate the new plant along with the existing oxygen production unit. Air Liquide has invested in excess of 6.5 million euros at this site.

The oxygen production is dedicated to Johns Manville Slovakia a.s, a leading manufacturer of glass fiber products, under a 15 year contract signed in May 2003. This company is a subsidiary of the American group Johns Manville Inc., a Berkshire Hathaway company and a leading manufacturer and marketer of premium-quality building and specialty products. Its Trnava site in Slovakia has developed rapidly, resulting in a significant increase of its oxygen demand.
