Book Publishing Partnership between Wiley and American Institute of Chemical Engineers

24-Mar-2005

John Wiley & Sons, Inc., and the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) announced that they have signed a multi-year agreement to jointly publish books in chemical engineering and industrial chemistry under a new, co-branded imprint, effective April 2005.

Under the agreement, Wiley and AIChE will co-publish 10-15 books a year in the broad field of chemical engineering, including books in process safety and emerging technological areas like biological engineering and sustainability. Wiley will oversee the publishing services for these books including production, marketing, and distribution worldwide. AIChE will retain editorial control of the titles.

This is the second publishing agreement between Wiley and AIChE. In January 2004, Wiley assumed all publishing responsibilities for the Institute's three flagship journals - Environmental Progress, Process Safety Progress, and the AIChE Journal - including the publication of their online editions through Wiley InterScience, the company's online publishing platform. AIChE retained editorial control of the journals. Also effective with this agreement, Wiley will distribute approximately 70 backlist titles published by AIChE.
