Dow Announces Price Increase for Propylene Glycols

05-Aug-2005

The Dow Chemical Company has announced that effective September 1, 2005, it will increase prices for its propylene glycol products in North America and the Caribbean.

Prices for propylene glycol industrial (PGI), and propylene glycol USP/EP (PG USP/EP) will increase by $0.05/lb (US$110/MT).

Prices for dipropylene glycol (DPG) and dipropylene glycol LO+ (DPG Lo+) will increase by $0.10/lb (US$220/MT).

Prices for tripropylene glycol (TPG) and tripropylene glycol acrylate grade (TPG AG) will increase by $0.05/lb (US$110/MT).

"Tight supply of key raw materials used in the production of PG, such as propylene monomer and propylene oxide impacts the availability of PG products," said Antulio Borneo, commercial director, Dow Oxides and Glycols. "Upward trends in raw material and energy costs have also influenced Dow's decision to increase prices for its propylene glycols products, accordingly."
