Dow Corning Names New Healthcare Industry Manager
The Dow Corning Life Sciences Industry has promoted Kevin Murphy to the position of Global Industry Manager, Healthcare. Murphy had been Global Business Development Manager for drug delivery, Wound Care and Oral Care in the Healthcare Business. He will report to the new Life Sciences Marketing Global Industry Director, Eriko Sakurai, who rejoined Dow Corning September 1.
Murphy will be responsible for developing innovative solutions for healthcare applications that demand the unique benefits of silicone-based materials in a wide variety of applications such as qualified topical excipients, adhesives, rubber and elastomers, tubing, liquids and emulsions, dispersions, antifoams and antifoam emulsions, polyurethane potting compounds.
Murphy joined Dow Corning in 1991 and worked in marketing roles in Fabric Care, Household Care and Automotive Care. In 1997, became a Global Business Development Manager for the Silicone Modified Organics business. In 1999, Murphy joined Dow Corning's Plastics team, serving in various business development and project management roles. In 2001 he was promoted to the Global Portfolio Leader and Marketing Communications/E-Commerce Manager for Plastics. Later in the same year he served in a key role in the acquisition and integration of Multibase, S.A. of France, which enabled Dow Corning to greatly expand its portfolio of plastic materials. He then served as the Marketing and E-Commerce Manager for Multibase.
