Kemira GrowHow awarded Chemical Supplier of the Year in the UK

14-Feb-2006

The British Chemical Distributors and Traders Association awarded Kemira GrowHow with the Supplier of the Year Award in the United Kingdom. The Supplier of the Year Award is judged on a number of criteria: quality, on-time deliveries, customer service and relationships with distributors. "Our focus is to develop stronger customer relations and new offerings by addressing our customer's key concerns with practical solutions. Being closer to the customers is the only way for us to deliver our strategy", Kemira GrowHow's André Lanning, Vice President, Industrial Solutions points out.

Kemira GrowHow's business operations are organised in two Strategic Business Units: Crop Cultivation and Industrial Solutions. Crop Cultivation focuses on providing products and services for farmers and Industrial Solutions focuses on producing and selling nitrogen-based process chemicals for industrial customers as well as feed phosphates and phosphoric acid.

One of the strategic objectives of SBU Industrial Solutions is to create added value over the fertilisers business. While the fertiliser business is cyclical by nature, the chemicals business is not dependent on any specific seasons. The production and sales of nitrogen-based chemicals is very synergistic with the fertiliser production and sourcing, taking advantage of the same production facilities in Ince in the UK, Tertre in Belgium and Uusikaupunki and Kokkola in Finland. The key products of BU Process Chemicals are by-products or raw materials of the fertiliser production process.
