Just eight months after its launch, the LabCircle.net networking platform that is operated jointly by Chemie.DE Information Service GmbH and Munich International Trade Fairs' Analytica has welcomed its 1,000th member. The international LabCircle community has experienced continuous growth since the online network for the laboratory-technology, analysis, biotechnology, chemistry and pharmaceuticals industries was first introduced at Analytica 2006.
At present, the network's geographic focus remains on Europe and Germany, which account for some 82 percent of all members. However, the share of members from Asian countries, especially the rapidly growing markets of China and India, has already increased by 13 percent and is still growing.
"This growth in Asia clearly shows that the analysis industry is growing together at the international level thanks to LabCircle.net and our foreign exhibitions in China and India. That gives the industry an excellent opportunity to present itself locally at these fairs and to network itself in a globally active business club the entire year," explains Susanne Grödl, Exhibition Director of the Analytica exhibitions.
Since the first discussion groups like the one on laboratory information and management systems (LIMS) were launched a few weeks ago, members have also had a chance to discuss various technical topics in open forums with fellow experts. Other discussion groups are already being set up. Like other functions that help members make business contacts, the discussion groups are an example of how LabCircle.net focuses on the industry's specific needs.
"LabCircle.net deliberately concentrates on the chemistry and life-science sectors because this sharp focus makes it easier to make new contacts and promotes industry-oriented dialog," explains Eva Siebert, the responsible marketing manager at Chemie.DE. "The industry focus and the resulting clearly defined membership profile form the basis for a first-rate exchange of technical information between LabCircle members."
LabCirlce.net is operated jointly by Analytica (Munich International Trade Fairs) and Chemie.DE Information Service GmbH. Basic membership is free of charge. Premium membership, which includes additional services, costs EUR 7.95 per month. When members register, they receive premium access for one month for test purposes.
