LyondellBasell Industries announced that it has completed the acquisition of Solvay Engineered Polymers, Inc., a supplier of polypropylene compounds in North America.

"The acquisition of Solvay Engineered Polymers clearly demonstrates our commitment to support our automotive OEM and Tier I customers with high performance products and innovative solutions," said Paul Yeates, Senior Vice President of LyondellBasell's Advanced Polyolefins Business. "The integration of the two businesses will provide our customers with a broader product portfolio and expanded customer support and application capabilities."

Yeates added that strengthening our capabilities in North America is a significant step to further developing LyondellBasell's global polypropylene compounding strategy. The combined North American business will be headed by Steve Dwyer, Vice President of LyondellBasell's Automotive Americas.
