BASF assumes EPCA presidency
Dr. Albert Heuser becomes president of European Petrochemical Association (EPCA) as of January 2009

With effect from January 1, 2009, Dr. Albert Heuser (53), head of BASF’s Petrochemicals division, became the new president of the European Petrochemical Association (EPCA) for the next three years.
Heuser joined BASF in 1987. Important functions since that time have been: Head of the Styrenics production department at BASF Antwerpen N. V. in Belgium, Chairman of the board of management of BASF Schwarzheide GmbH and President Ludwigshafen Verbund Site Management, BASF Aktiengesellschaft. Heuser has been head of BASF’s Petrochemicals division since April 2006.
