RCT Reichelt Chemietechnik

Chemically Resistant PTFE Films for High-Temperature Applications up to 260°C

RCT Reichelt Chemietechnik GmbH + Co.

Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) films offer exceptional material properties for demanding industrial applications. This semi-crystalline polymer from the class of polyhalogenolefins is characterized by extreme chemical resistance to aggressive acids such as aqua regia, bases, alcohols, ketones, gasoline, and oils.

The mechanical strength remains consistently maintained over an exceptionally wide temperature range from -260°C to +260°C. With a Shore hardness D of 54° according to DIN 53505 and a very low friction coefficient, PTFE films are ideally suited as coating and lining materials in chemical technology, pharmaceutical technology, and medical technology.

The UV and weather-resistant films are primarily used in chemical apparatus construction for expansion joints, pipelines, columns, and working tanks. In sealing technology, they serve as base compounds for various applications.

Available Product Variants:

  • PTFE film (virgin)
  • PTFE film (virgin) - one-side etched
  • PTFE film (virgin) - one-side etched, square
  • PTFE film (virgin) - one-side self-adhesive
  • PTFE film (virgin) - FDA compliant
  • PTFE film (virgin) - square

One-side etched variants enable direct bonding with special PTFE adhesives based on synthetic rubber. FDA-compliant versions meet the strict requirements of the food and pharmaceutical industries.

PTFE films and other products, such as plastic films, silicone films and metal films, are available directly in the online shop of RCT Reichelt Chemietechnik. The range of RCT Reichelt Chemietechnik offers over 80,000 different products, which are used among others in mechanical engineering, chemical technology, process engineering as well as medical technology.
