The TURBISCAN enables rapid and early detection of destabilization phenomena in concentrated dispersions. All types of instability — migration, particle evolution, phase separation — are identified before they become visible.
By accelerating formulation screening and reducing development timelines, TURBISCAN ensures data-driven decision-making across multiple industries while delivering robust performance and long-term stability.
Unlike traditional stability testing methods that require dilution studies or extended storage periods, samples are analyzed in their native state, without dilution. The integrity of complex and highly concentrated formulations is therefore preserved.
Based on Static Multiple Light Scattering (SMLS), the system measures variations in backscattered and transmitted light across the entire height of the sample. This technique detects even the slightest particle migration or structural evolution, with sensitivity up to 1,000 times greater than visual observation.
TURBISCAN also provides clear, quantitative stability indices, facilitating go/no-go decisions and guiding formulation optimization. Shelf-life prediction is made reliable in a single click thanks to an integrated algorithm.
Destabilization mechanisms can be intensified through thermal acceleration. This approach is designed to simulate real storage and transportation conditions, where temperature fluctuations can significantly impact product robustness. By reproducing these environmental stresses within a shorter timeframe, TURBISCAN highlights long-term stability risks at a much earlier stage.
For R&D teams, the combination of SMLS and thermal acceleration provides a predictive approach that shortens development cycles and delivers deep insight into destabilization mechanisms. For quality control laboratories, it ensures systematic batch verification and early detection of potential defects, strengthening product reliability before market release.
Used across the pharmaceutical, cosmetic, food, chemical, coatings, and advanced materials industries, this system is ideal for any application where dispersion stability is critical. Whether developing new emulsions, improving suspensions, or validating long-term stability claims, TURBISCAN delivers objective, reproducible data that supports innovation and ensures robust, high-performing products.
