About Vinythai

Vinythai sells the products manufactured at its Map Ta Phut site to both local and overseas markets. In 1992, the company’s site included two PVC plants (emulsion and suspension resins), and grew, in 1996, to also include a monomer (VCM) plant, an Ethylene Dichloride (EDC) plant and a Chlor-Alkali plant (MCA).

The last three units were set up to integrate the production of PVC, enabling to company to purchase locally produced raw materials and utilities, such as ethylene from PTT Chemical Public Company Limited (PTTCH), salt from Pimai Salt Company Limited (PSC), and electricity from Glow Energy Public Company Limited. In order to further secure the availability of raw materials, Vinythai has become a minority shareholder of PSC.

The Chlor-Alkali plant provides the chlorine that is used in the PVC resins. In its salt electrolysis operation, the plant also produces significant quantities of caustic soda (0.67 t/t PVC) as well as hydrogen and sodium hypochlorite. These products are also sold in the domestic market.

In addition to its own sources, the Company's facilities are also equipped to import EDC and VCM as the need arises.
