New IT-management at Merck
Merck announced that James Stewart (52) will become Chief Information Officer (CIO) of the Merck Group as of October 1, 2013. In his new position, Stewart will report to Kai Beckmann, member of the Merck Executive Board. Stewart succeeds Frédéric Wohlwend, who has decided to pursue new opportunities outside Merck.
“We thank Frédéric Wohlwend for his many years of service to our company in various leadership positions and we regret his decision to leave Merck. However, we are pleased to have appointed James Stewart, a highly qualified and experienced manager, to succeed him,” said Kai Beckmann, whose Executive Board responsibilities include Group Information Services.
