Lenzing Group Steps Up Activities in the Far East

Spezial Fibers Generate Lenzing Growth

For some time already, the Lenzing Group has intensified - and quite successfully - the marketing activities for its special fibers. Following last year's doubling of Lyocell capacities, Modal production is now also being expanded continuously, which is one more step to satisfy the growing demand for special fibers.

Since several Japanese fiber manufacturers have withdrawn from the market, Lenzing will make greater efforts regarding its marketing activities in the Far East - Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and China. Only recently, "Lenzing Asia" was opened as representative office in Hong Kong especially for that purpose. Lenzing Managing Board Member Franz Raninger expects that Modal fibers, in particular, which can also be used for products with the Sandwash Look, will meet with success soon. "For Lenzing, the Far East is an important strategic growth market for special fibers, and we will quickly fill the supply gap that has emerged on account of the closure of a number of manufacturing plants" says Raninger.
