23-Aug-2001

ChemConnect Inc., the company that provides the only end-to-end e-commerce solution for buyers and sellers of chemicals and plastics worldwide, today announced that Geoff Huckleberry has been named Vice President, Product Development and Michele Hincks has been named Vice President, Marketing.

“Geoff has unparalleled expertise and experience developing products for high-technology companies,” said John Robinson, ChemConnect CEO. “As our Members reap the rewards of e-commerce efficiencies, they become more sophisticated—and demanding—about what they want to do online next. Geoff’s job is to ensure that ChemConnect continues to provide the most advanced, easy-to-use, end-to-end e-commerce tools to meet that demand.”

“As for Michele, she’s been working ‘all out’ since she first joined the company,” he continued. “As we take on the new challenges of integrating all of ChemConnect’s services and solutions, including Envera, Michele will lead the marketing and corporate communications efforts that continue to be invaluable components of our company’s ongoing success.”

Geoff Huckleberry Vice President, Product Development

Geoff Huckleberry joined ChemConnect in November 2000 as Director of Product Management. He introduced a collaborative business management process for ChemConnect’s product portfolio, which resulted in improved cross-functional focus and communication. Geoff’s strong focus on customer research and satisfaction has been instrumental in ChemConnect’s successful introduction of new products and the improvement of existing offerings.

Geoff’s previous experience included more than 13 years developing and marketing new financial services and products for high technology companies, including StockPower, eFinance, Intuit, and CCH Inc.

As the Senior Director, Product Marketing for StockPower, Geoff was responsible for leading teams in defining, developing, and marketing some of the first equity-based loyalty marketing products. As Vice President, Marketing for eFinance, Geoff developed the company’s product, marketing, and customer acquisition strategies, and oversaw the development of the company’s website.

In an 18-month period at Intuit, Geoff led the revamping of the QuickBooks Support Services and launched new sales channels for the product. At CCH Incorporated, his successes included managing the development and marketing of a software platform responsible for a large portion of the company’s new subscription revenue.

Geoff holds an M.B.A. in marketing/strategy from the Anderson Graduate School of Management at UCLA and a B.Sc. in electrical engineering from University of California, San Diego.

Michele Hincks Vice President, Marketing

Since joining ChemConnect in November 1999, Michele Hincks has led the company’s integrated marketing communications program, helping to develop and implement the company’s branding and positioning strategy during a period of rapid growth and consolidation.

With advertising, public relations, conferences, events, and collateral in her portfolio of responsibilities as Director of Marketing Communications, Michele was a senior contributor in the development of the communications campaign that won a nomination as PRWeek’s 2000 “B2B Public Relations Campaign of the Year.”

Michele joined ChemConnect with 14 years of senior business and consumer marketing experience in business-to-business e-commerce, telecommunications products, and software applications. She specialized in marketing and strategic planning, product management, and competitive analysis. At Lucent Technologies, she was responsible for the successful launch of numerous products including www.messenger™ while at AT&T she launched its Direct® Ocean Service.

Michele holds an M.B.A. in marketing from Rutgers Graduate School of Management and a B.A. in computer science from Douglass College.
