China Access Forums: Gateway for North America Life Sciences Companies to Access China Opportunities

30-Mar-2005

To help North American Life Sciences companies capture the opportunities in China, Burrill & Company with co-sponsors The BayHelix Group and China Access 2008, will launch nine half-day events, called China Access Forums, in nine major North American cities between March 28 and April 8, 2005.

The forums will focus on topics related to China life sciences, such as opportunities, challenges and trends in China, and how to bridge North America to China. With its tremendous cost advantages, a rapidly growing domestic market and quickly advancing science and technology, Greater China is fast becoming an important component in the worldwide life sciences landscape. The forums will involve respected world-class speakers, including industry leaders from China. This series of special business forums will be consciously structured to assist North American companies to better strategize the important commercial implications of the immediate evolving developments in China.

"We are excited to organize the China Access Forums with our co-sponsors and host the premiere event," noted G. Steven Burrill, CEO of Burrill & Company. "These forums will provide a unique interactive environment where industry leaders from both sides of the Pacific can directly communicate with each other," added Burrill.

"China Access Forums is an important part of our efforts to create a 'life sciences bridge' between North America and Greater China to enable trans-Pacific outsourcing and technology transfer," said Jonathan Wang, Burrill's General Manager for Greater China. "Burrill is well positioned to become a 'gateway' for North American companies to access the opportunities in Greater China, and vise versa."
