Lurgi wins major order from Malaysia

Lurgi AG, a subsidiary of the GEA Group, has won a major contract to build a lubricant plant in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The contract has been awarded by Petronas Penapisan (Melaka). This is the second major Malaysian order within a year that Petronas has awarded to Lurgi. This plant will be integrated into two of Petronas' existing plant complexes.

The plant, which is due to come on stream in the spring of 2008 and will be the first of its kind in Malaysia, will produce more than 2,000 cubic meters of distillates per day for the manufacture of lubricants. The services provided by Lurgi include the engineering and procurement of the central processing units. Lurgi is also heading the consortium that is erecting the plant and consists of Larsen & Toubro Ltd., India, and two local companies.
