Elemica, a neutral e-marketplace founded by some of the world's leading chemical companies to serve the global chemical industry, today named Kent A. "Given its considerable liquidity, reach and capabilities, Elemica is in a true leadership position - a position to set standards for the chemical industry and for businesses in general," said Dolby. "Coming from a consulting and e?business background, I also recognize the strength of the company's business model, investors and technology partners. As an e?marketplace developed by the industry's leading players to serve the industry, Elemica offers value for a wide variety of buyers and sellers. I consider myself fortunate to be in a position to contribute to the future success of this dynamic organization."

According to Dennis Campbell, Elemica's chief operating officer, Dolby will focus on long-term strategic planning, building critical momentum for Elemica and forging alliances that will solidify Elemica as the leading e?marketplace for buyers and sellers in the chemical industry.

"We are fortunate to add Kent Dolby to our executive team," said Campbell. "He brings with him a wealth of e-business expertise that is in line with Elemica's business model. His past experience clearly demonstrates his ability to successfully confront the challenges and opportunities of building a successful business-to-business e-commerce enterprise designed to serve a multi-billion-dollar, global industry. We expect his leadership to play a vital role in shaping the future of Elemica."

Prior to joining PaperExchange.com, Dolby served as managing partner of Andersen Consulting's Americas Chemicals practice, managing partner of Andersen's Global Natural Resources practice, and managing partner of Andersen's Asian Resources practice. A partner in the company for 16 years, Dolby led the development of business-to-business e-commerce capabilities within Andersen's $700 million Energy and Natural Resources practices.
