Ralf Blauth to become new Degussa Management Board Member and Human Resources Officer
The Supervisory Board of Degussa AG, appointed Ralf Blauth, currently a Management Board Member and the Human Resources Officer at RAG Coal International AG, Essen, to the same posts at Degussa AG. Blauth will be taking up work as Management Board Member and Human Resources Officer effective July 1, 2006, thus succeeding Dr. Thomas Schoeneberg, who is leaving Degussa on June 30, 2006.
Following training as an industrial clerical officer, Ralf Blauth began work in technical purchasing in 1971 at Hüls AG, Marl. In 1981 he stood for election as a works councillor for the first time, and was voted in immediately. A year later, he was released from his normal duties for Works Council service and in 1989 went on to become Chairman of the Central Works Council. In 2002 he took up work as Chairman of the Group Works Council of Degussa - a function he had filled at E.ON AG since 1996. He was simultaneously also a Member of the Supervisory Boards of Degussa, E.ON and RAG. In 2005 he moved to RAG Coal International AG, Essen, to fill the posts of Management Board Member and Human Resources Officer.
